Scot's Mailing list / Outgoing Messages / Importing a Web Page

Importing a Web Page

If you have an HTML editor and made a nice web page that you want to send, you can import it into Scot's Mailing List. Just enter the URL and the subject of the message and go.

image problems in imported HTML

The image HTML tag is often uses a relative location for the image. That is, it doesn't include the domain name in the path. In order for outgoing emails to display their images, the location needs to be exact.

For example, if in the HTML of your message there is an image tag such as:

<img src="media/background.gif">

you'd have to change it to something like:

<img src="http://www.mydomain.com/media/background.gif">

so the location of the image is a web URL pointing right to the image.
