back up errorback to discussions

I receive a back up error when I use the back up utility. I read on a previous post that I could back up manually by backing up the smr_scotmail file.  I found the file. Here is where I wish I was smarter.  Do I drag the whole smr_scotmail file to my desktop? do I click make a copy?  What exactly is the best way to backup the smr_scotmail data?  Thank you.

Hi,

FTP to your website and go into the miva data area, then drag the smr_scotmail folder into your documents folder or somewhere else for safe keeping.  That's the sure fire easy way of doing it.

If there is a backup error, you can also re-create the backup directory (located in the scotmail script folder) manually.  Some versions of scot's mailing list created that directory wrong, so you get the backup error.
